Peter Davis
Member, Board of Governors
Mr. Davis is the founder and CEO of Infinity Precision, a manufacturer of automated process equipment for industries such as disc drives, optics, and solar cells. Davis founded Infinity with angel financing, oversaw its rapid growth, and sold it to a consortium of private equity firms in 2005. Prior to forming Infinity, Davis was President of another privately held process equipment manufacturer. Earlier in his business career, he and served in various executive positions with a publicly-traded British process equipment company. Davis currently serves as an advisor to several small companies and is active as an angel investor. Prior to his business career, Davis was a commissioned officer in the United States Navy, where he served aboard submarines and as a treaty negotiator for the START Treaty. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Duke University and a graduate degree in Systems Engineering from the Navy Nuclear Power Program.

Frank H. Levinson
Member, Board or Governors
Frank Levinson founded Finisar in 1988 and served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Technical officer until December 2005. From 1980 to 1984, Dr. Levinson was a Member of Technical Staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories and then Bellcore. In 1985, Dr. Levinson joined Raychem Corporation as their Chief Optical Scientist. In 1986 Dr. Levinson transferred to Raynet, a fiber optics systems subsidiary of Raychem, as Optical Department Manager. He served in that capacity until 1988. Dr. Levinson holds a B.S. in Mathematics/Physics from Butler University and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Astronomy from the University of Virginia. Today he serves on Finisar’s board of directors, advises a number of small companies and participates in venture philanthropy efforts in the areas of optics, biodiversity and sensing.

Brent Shelton
Member, Board of Governors
Brent Shelton is a co-founder of Twin Cities Angels, a group of successful investors and executives investing both time and money in high-quality and high-growth Minnesota start-ups. Brent has over 25 years of medical device experience in technology, development and marketing at Medtronic. He is currently in Business Development with Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division. Brent holds a bachelor’s and master’s in electrical engineering with a minor in physiology, as well as a dual MBA in marketing and strategy from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management.
